We are happy to announce that as the academicians in the provinces affected by the 6 February 2023 earthquakes, which is described as the disaster of the century, we wish to hold the
'International Congress of Sustainability and Technological Developments in Textiles'. Despite all the negativities caused by the earthquakes, we mobilize all our means to make a successful congress which we started to prepare for in September 2022.
Our congress, whose short name is TESTEG 2023, will be held between
13-15 October 2023 at
Gaziantep University Mâvera Congress and Art Center in partnership with 11 different universities which are Gaziantep University, Adıyaman University, Bitlis Eren University, Çukurova University, Dicle University, Erciyes University, Harran University, İnönü University, Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, Osmaniye Korkut Ata University and Mersin University, located in important cities for the Textile Industry of our country, and in other partnership with local institutions in Gaziantep city which are Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, Gaziantep Chamber of Industry (GSO) and As Southeastern Anatolian Exporters' Associations (GAİB).
With the increasing global warming and pollution problems, the concepts of circular economy and sustainability have become extremely important in the textile industry, as in other sectors. We think that our congress, which we set out with the aim of presenting the current, technical and technological developments in different fields of textile and the current situation and possible applications within the scope of sustainability, will prepare the ground for the exchange of ideas, will bring companies, engineers, industrialists and academicians operating in the sector, and will make significant contributions to all our participants.
We think that TESTEG 2023 will make a great contribution to the recovery of the textile industry in our provinces, which are in the first degree earthquake zone, and we are honored to invite you to our congress, which will be held on 13-15 October 2023.
